We are pulling out another classic for this month's Our Favorite Streets Ride! Wanna get away from it all and enjoy some serious social distancing? Well head down south to find Atlanta's Loneliest Path.
Cycle 5 Points to the Aerotropolis. Almost 30 miles round trip, this surface street route shows you the close and sometimes haphazard proximity of industrial, commercial and residential spaces invisible to most who do not live here. At the southernmost point you will find the Phoenix PATH, the loneliest path inside the perimeter.
From the railyards of the Gulch to the security fence of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, you’ll see and visit some of Fulton’s oldest southside neighborhoods - some of which are re-imagining themselves as Aerotropolis.
Be prepared to ride on streets not frequently used by cyclists. Be prepared for long stretches of solitude. Feel so close & miles away.
Distance: 28.4 Mi
Estimated Time: 2:10 Hrs
Type of Road: Roads and some Path (This goes through some busy industrial roads which are small and can have high truck traffic)
