CALL FOR ARTISTS

The Atlanta Cycling Festival is hosting a ART PRINT SHOW… for bikes!

Selected artists will submit art prints to be sold at the Atlanta Cycling Festival and on the ACF website throughout the year. Each artist will submit 20 copies of their final art print to the ACF by June 1st. Final art prints may be of any dimensions, but art prints will be sold for $35 each.

Artists will also have the option to submit art to be printed on limited-edition bicycle jerseys that will be auctioned off during the Cycling Festival. This art must be submitted by May 13th.

  • Deadline for portfolio submission: Sunday, March 27th
  • Notification of acceptance: Sunday, April 3rd
  • Jersey art submission:  Friday, May 13th
  • Art print submission: Wednesday, June 1st

Fine Print

Prints will be sold at select ACF events from June 11th - June 18th, 2016, after which time they will be sold on the ACF website for one calendar year. ACF will sell each art print for $35 and artists will receive 70% of each art print sale.

Jersey will be auctioned off at Quick Release Art Show. Artists will receive 25% from the final sale of the jersey. Well-performing jerseys may be sold on the ACF website throughout the year.

ACF may choose to discount art prints after the end of the festival, but will only do so with the permission of the artist. Artists will retain full copyright of their work and may reclaim any prints left unsold at any time after the end of the festival.

Artists are responsible for printing and delivering final art prints to the ACF. Art prints must be of professional quality, and may be letterpress, screen prints, lithography, high-quality digital prints, etc.

Only professional quality prints will be accepted. The ACF is a family-friendly event and asks that artists keep this in mind when considering the content of their prints. No prints featuring culturally offensive content will be accepted.

The 2016 ACF Grant Annoucement

The ACF Create Grant

We at the Atlanta Cycling Festival love to create, especially in the city we cherish - Atlanta.

And we want more people to create and make their dreams happen, too. Thus, each year we offer a one time, $2,000 grant called the ACF Create Grant.

The purpose of this grant: To help start and create more bicycle culture, jobs and infrastructure in Atlanta. The ACF Create Grant does this by awarding $2,000 to fund a bike business/idea in the metro region.

The big announcement: Submissions are now open.

Last year's grant helped start a bicycle food delivery service in southwest Atlanta with the great folks at Carver Neighborhood Market!

Here's your chance to get seed funding to start, oh, a bike coffee shop, a bike bar, a bike clothing line, a bike [insert your idea here].

We're also excited to have some amazing judges this year:

Hurry - Submissions will close on Sunday, March 6th, 2016 at 11:59pm.

Attention: Bike Technology Events Are A Go!

-

Bike technology is a go!

After the 2015 Atlanta Cycling Festival, we had a team meeting to discuss what went well and where/how we can improve future ACFs.

After much discussion, we kept coming back to our "big idea": We want the ACF to be the SXSW for bikes in Atlanta - Where people come to Atlanta for the week for bike rides, bike advocacy, bike art, bike technology, bike films, bike music and consumer focused-bike-everything.

Looking at the team, it was clear that we needed to hire some amazingly talented people. Fast. And we did - We hired a Bike Art Director and the (first ever) Bicycle Technology Director (more on them in the future). Once we found the talent, it was clear that they would need a budget.

And that's the purpose of this post: We've found our premier Bike Technology Sponsor - Wahoo Fitness.

Thanks to Wahoo, we've got the initial budget to build out some fantastic bike technology events. Events that have never, ever been done before in Atlanta. Think bike powered machines with 3D mapping lights, digital bike lanes, bike technology meetups and a whole lot more.

What's even cooler: Wahoo Fitness wants to hire local Atlanta talent to help grow their company (See their jobs here). That's right - An Atlanta based bike technology company is purposefully looking to hire technologically talented bicyclists in Atlanta. That's ridiculously fantastic.

So. Stay tuned. The 2016 Atlanta Cycling Festival is going to be grand. We can't wait for you to attend.

P.S. Interested in sponsoring the 2016 ACF? We're looking for few more awesome thought-leaders in art and tech. Check out ourSponsor The Festival page for more info.
