We’re halfway through the 2017 Atlanta Cycling Festival!
What a week it’s been thus far – yard sales, bicycle speed dating, council member candidate meet and greets, parties and more. Oh, and we’re not done yet (Entire list of 2017 ACF Events).
With all bicycle events going on, we wanted to take some time and highlight a few awesome areas that you can support the cycling community during the festival – And be a gosh-darn do-gooder.
1. Win $500 to give to an Atlanta nonprofit of your choice
We’re hosting the first ever Nonprofit Cargo Bike Challenge: Lift, Work Play. Several teams enter... One team leaves... Proving they have the guts, the glory and lower back strength unparalleled in all of Atlanta. For their Herculean efforts: A $500 cash prize given to a local nonprofit of their choice.
We’ll provide the Yuba Cargo bikes. You supply the team!
2. Ride in the Fruit Tree Tour and support Concrete Jungle
Concrete Jungle is a collection of fruit and bike enthusiasts trying to make sure no apple (or any fruit for that matter) goes to waste. They find local fruit trees, pick the fruit and then donate the fruits of their labor to food banks, shelters and people in need.
And we’re hosting a fruit tree tour with them this Saturday, with a portion of the ticket proceeds going to their awesome efforts. Come explore Atlanta, see endemic fruit trees, eat fruit right off the tree and support a great cause!
3. Support the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition’s Rainy Day Fund – Win a bike!
Donate to the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition's Rainy Day Fund any time during the Atlanta Cycling Festival - Saturday, June 10 through Saturday, June 17 - for a chance to pedal away on your very own EDISON electric bike!
All donors will receive an Atlanta Bicycle Coalition membership. Donate $250 or more to score a coveted Atlanta Bicycle Coalition hoodie.
4. FB4K Silent Auction
And those are just a few ways that you can be a gosh-darn do-gooder with ACF this year. Hope to see you on two wheels at all these events!
